Effective January 1, 2024, there will be two (2) openings on the Austin Police Retirement System Board of Trustees for the positions elected from the active membership of the System. When a vacancy occurs between regular elections, a replacement is selected by the Board pursuant to state law.
Active police officer members of the System who wish to be considered must submit a Letter of Intent to the Election Committee via the Executive Director no later than December 29, 2023.
The Letter of Intent, limited to approximately 1,000 characters, will introduce the candidate to the Election Committee and state reasons for wanting to serve on the Board. All candidates will be provided with the APRS Code of Ethics Policy and must acknowledge receipt and intention to comply with.
