Notice Regarding Active Election

From: Cmdr. Michael Jung, Election Committee Chairperson Pursuant to the Act governing the Austin Police Retirement System (Article 6243n-1, V.T.C.S., as amended effective September 1, 2011), an election is to be held to elect three active police officer members of the Board of Trustees, for a term of four years. Election materials from the candidates running for election have been mailed to all active police members. Please note that this year's election will be conducted by electronic balloting. Active police members will be receiving voting instructions and password from VR Election Services within the next few days. Please watch for this communication from VR Election Services so that you do not miss your voting instructions. Using the electronic voting system, active police officer members will be able to vote for up to three candidates. The three candidates with the highest number of votes will be elected to the APRS Board of Trustees. Voting will commence on November 14, 2011 and will cease on December 9, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. If you do not receive a mailing from VR Election Services by November 21, 2011, please contact the Pension Office at (512) 416-7672.
