Pension 101 Seminar

The City of Austin Deferred Compensation Plan and the City of Police Retirement System are pleased to announce a new seminar entitled "Pension 101: A Pension Primer for City of Austin Police Officers". This brown bag seminar is intended for members with 10 years of service or less. It will be jointly presented by representatives of the two Plans and will: Provide an overview of your retirement program, discuss the differences between Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution, discuss retirement plan features for Austin Police Retirement System, Deferred Compensation Plan and Social Security, discuss how, when and why you might consider transfers between plan funds and provide some retirement planning basics.
